President Obama signs Janey Ensminger Act

On August 6, 2012 President Obama signed the Honoring America’s Veterans and Caring for Camp Lejeune Families Act of 2012 into law. This historic piece of legislation provides health care benefits to veterans and their families made ill from polluted drinking water at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. Rachel Libert and Tony Hardmon were there for the bill signing. This is a major step forward, but the underlying system of how the U.S. regulates chemicals is desperately in need of reform.
